I attended Stephen F. Austin State University (go Lumberjacks). I majored in Applied Arts and Sciences and minored in Communications. I have a teaching certification in early childhood through sixth grade. I have an English as a Second Language certification in early childhood through sixth grade.
Experience
I have taught as a first grade teacher for two years. I loved it! I enjoy teaching students to read, comprehend what they are reading, and number sense. I enjoy seeing their faces light up when they finally understand a problem they have been working with. I have also taught creative writing in a club after school in second through fifth grades. Learning is so much more interesting when you make it fun and enjoyable for students.
