I believe that my own personal academic experience and my years as a tutor serve me well when it comes to working with my students. I received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Tougaloo College, and I'm now pursuing a Master of Arts in English Literature at Jackson State University. I've tutored middle school, high school, college, and graduate students in a range of subjects. I can offer support in reading comprehension, writing, essay editing, grammar and mechanics, English, and preparation for the ACT, SAT, and STAAR. As an avid reader myself, I believe that developing an appreciation for reading and literature is the key to unlocking a student's imagination. This also gives him or her the opportunity to find a deeper meaning in what we see and read. In my free time, I enjoy watching and playing basketball, especially because I played in both high school and college. I also love anything that has to do with DC Comics, especially reading about characters such as The Flash.
