I'm a native of Hawaii who has moved around quite a bit. I currently live in Spring, Texas. I lived in Massachusetts while attending Boston College, where I earned my bachelor's degree in 2004. My undergraduate major was marketing and my minor was math. Then I lived in New York City, where I taught high school math during the day and at night pursued a graduate education. In 2007 I received a master's degree from Brooklyn College in math education. Then I moved to Rwanda as a member of Youth With A Mission (YWAM), a Christian missionary organization. Then I moved to New Jersey, where I worked as a tutor for two years at an educational center. I was the primary math tutor, and also helped prepare students for standardized tests: not only the SAT, but the SAT II, SSAT, ACT, and ISEE as well. Teaching and tutoring are great opportunities for me to share my passion for education, critical thinking, and living a meaningful life.I am the author of two books: a memoir focusing on my experiences in Rwanda, plus another titled "A Remnant in Rwanda," which I self-published in 2011. My hobbies are reading, working out, watching movies, and everything Apple.
